The Movie Rathirnirvedam of 1978, a Malayalam erotic film directed by Bharathan written by P. Padmarajan based on his own novel. The same movie is remade later in 2011 directed by T K Rajeev.  Rathirnirvedam portrays the sexual relationship between Rathi, a lady above the age of 20 years with Pappu, an adolescent boy who just completed his high school. In the 1978 filim, Jayabharathi plays the lead female role of Rathi and Krishnachadran plays the role of Pappu, the male lead, And in the 2011 version, Shewetha Menon plays the role of Rathi and Sreejith is Pappu.

The climax of the movie depicts the midnight date of Rathi and Pappu at the Sarppakkavu ( Cobra - Shrine). The heavy thunder and storm portrayed in the backdrop also replicated the storm of sexual desire that pappu feels towards Rathi.

Chandrolsavam is a 2005 romantic - drama in Malayalam movie directed by Ranjith, Mohanlal plays the role of Chirackal Sreehari and Meena as Indu, Sreehari's first love.  Chandrotsavam is about Chirackal Sreehari, a man in love for his nostalgia, trying to redeem his past, celebration of his life, love, friendships and memories. Big B is 2007 action thriller Malayalam movie o-written and directed by Amal Neerad, starring Mammootty as Bilal John Kurisinkal the lead role. Rain is a backdrop for introduction scene of Bilal to Kochi as he arrives for the funeral function of his foster mother Mary John Kurisinkal. The BGM provided by Gopi Sunder along with the picturisation and the directoral brilliance of Amal Neered provided the Mass feel to the movie and Bilal.

The interval scene of  Memories

Memories is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran as Sam Alex,  a police officer who is heavily dependent on alcoholism to ease the pain of his family loss. Sam was a romantic and peaceful family guy, leading a good life with his family. His loving wife Teena and beloved daughter were murdered by his enemy right in front of his eyes, and as a result, he turns into an alcoholic. As requested by his supervisor Aravindhaksha Menon Sam Alex  conducts a parallel investigation in a case involving the disappearance and possible kidnapping of several young married men, since the present police team is not able to make any progress in the case. During the interval scene, the pshyco killer had a narrow escape from Sam where he realises the after effects of his alchoholism in his life. Thye rain in that scene shows the helplessness of Sam.

Rain is often believed to be the blessings of the dead ones. The 2002, Malayalam comedy movie Mazhathullikilukkam ends with the same principle where Solomon (Dileep) and Sophia (Navya Nair) 
deciding to live together with the blessings of  Anna  John (Sharada) and Alice John (Bharati).
